According to Rightmove’s annual Happy at Home Index, the stunning coastal town of St Ives in Cornwall has taken the crown for the happiest place to live in the UK for 2020.
This cute town is known for its pretty harbour and research has shown that the residents here are apparently happier than in any other community nationwide.
The locals love the area’s nature and green spaces, and it is reported that St Ives has the friendliest neighbours in the UK.
As with many coastal and rural locations in 2020, the demand for property in Cornwall has doubled compared to last year.
This is a trend we see across the top 20 happiest places to live this year, in fact four coastal towns have made it into the top 20.
These are: Falmouth, Weymouth and Poole.
Only one London location made it onto the top 20 list: Richmond-upon-Thames, which is not far from our Barnes HQ.
